Announcing new A-2 jackets From Headwind!

Coming in the near future we will be releasing 3 new A-2 jackets.

#1 Already announced previously is our version of the Security Aviation Togs 32-485 contract. We have made up some nice labels that are also used on the Aviatrix jacket.

Got this off Boyo. Arrived today. Very pleased. Need to say that he’s a crackingly good chap to deal with and shipped stupidly quickly.
Quick pick of the jacket out of the box. Fit pics (reluctantly) when i next see decent natural light..... might be a while in England ;)
Sized as 48” chest, it fits exactly as a normal 46” chest would - which makes me very happy. Replaces a 46” i had which was just too small for me. This size gives me room for a shirt & sweater in winter and t-shirt in...

Just got an L.L. Bean shearling and Mouton G1-ish bomber!

Traded a guy on styleforum for a leather shearling lined G1 type jacket with a Mouton collar. Size small. Fit is solid. Thinsulate sleeves. Warm as heck.

From what I can tell, the manufacture tag says 1997. Must have been the last run of decent bean leathers. Made in USA. looks like a Golden Bear tag.

Skins look like goat. Similar texture to my late 70s/early 80s golden bear A2-ish jacket.

Unfortunately a 3 piece back, but even the early 80s ones were 2 piece. Never seen a one piece...

Just got an L.L. Bean shearling and Mouton G1-ish bomber!

Here are some photos of our newly Crafted A-2 jacket. We made this with new top quality, 1.2 mm thick Goatskin leather, 100% Cotton Lining including sleeves, This one is made in our new Superior Grain Dark Brown Goatskin leather with high quality Knitted Cuff. We also have Goat Aniline, & Goat Deer options for this jacket and we will have additional Capeskin options in the near future.

Gents..

Some of you may be aware of the recent sell out. Managed to offload a B-3, RW 1401-P, BR Patched L-2B and a B-15A(Mod). Four went and three bought?? One was a shonky bugger who bid me up bit by bit to my max, then let it slide. Had an opportunity to readjust the bid when the seller altered the US$0.10 Airmail to Australia to cost. Gave him the benefit of the doubt and he shipped for free in the end. So a second BR L-2 on the way. RM Skyline L-2B and this little number arrived today...

Picked up a copy today @ Fardin's shop.
Have to take a more thorough look yet but from a short browse through it, it's a nice and interesting publication centering on the hobby of collecting vintag US Militaria and focussing on some well known collectors and brands...

Will post a review when I have taken a closer look...

Hi,

Old refurbished ELC Rough Wear. Leather has a couple of light stains (!?) but if this was a 40 I'd be making an offer ASAP!

I purchased this size 48 Aero USN Type M422a jacket "like new" off a member on the old forum waaaayyyy back before it got wiped. Sadly upon receiving it, I wasn't crazy with the fit at the time and then proceeded to gain enough weight to make it unwearable. However, I kept it around in my closet and it's basically never been worn out & about either by the original owner or by me. I've lost about 35lbs over the course on 2019, and I can actually wear the jacket again, so I'm pondering what to...

This must have been spoken about in various topics but couldn't find one dedicated thread. I recently experienced the vintage cotton stitching falling apart issue on my motorcycle jacket by Excelled, it's only from the 50s, leather is in prestine conditin, but the seams are coming apart (well, let me elaborate, they are together, but about one inch of stitching disappeared, and as I slowed opened from there, the cotton threads easily break, resulting me opening the whole sleeve). Hello leather folks!

I will be in Ho Chi Min city from January 12th next month, and If I have enough time I would like to go to visit the Vietnam war museum ( I remember someone here posted pics about not long ago ) and if there's chance to find some old vintage leather stuff.

Purchased an ATF fleece lined tanker sz XL,,, great price point very nice utility jacket. The back ripped out right in the middle when I was putting it on for the second time.Called them and they sent out a new one straight up . Seems it's a problem in large sizes. All in all a great jacket and a super USA company !! The zip box looks like a Crown so I swapped it out for a late 40s Crown pull ,,, after I polished up a bit.
