Civilian imitation Irvin?

While trawling through the internet for jackets on my work break, I came across this...not-Irvin claiming to be an Irvin.

Not interested in buying it, of course, but I’m curious what you all think. Is it trying to be a civilian version of an Irvin? Is it a completely unrelated shearling jacket? When might it be from? I’ve seen a lot of A-2 style civilian jackets, but not many...

In order to shorten the waiting time for my Aero, I now read all possible posts about leather jackets and stumbled of the nice thread <https://www.vintageleatherjackets.org/threads/amelia-earhart-flight-jacket-reproduction-the-aviatrix.19470/> from Skyhawk (thanks for that) and thought, why not try something like that?
Since I also came across @Shawn Ali from FivestarLeather in this forum, I simply asked if he could make me a jacket like this. This should sweeten...

Hello leather folks!

I will be in Ho Chi Min city from January 12th next month, and If I have enough time I would like to go to visit the Vietnam war museum ( I remember someone here posted pics about not long ago ) and if there's chance to find some old vintage leather stuff.
Any idea or suggestions, markets, or any area where to look for?

thanks

item# 193308733161 it has minor issues that can be dealt with, but the monarch a-2s are pretty hard to come by. this one is tagged a size 42, if one is considering it as a wearer, i strongly suggest that you get specific measurements from the seller, as monarch sizing is notoriously all over the place. happy hunting.

Cold Weather CVC jacket

I recently bought a surplus alpha industries cold weather CVC jacket from 1996 as a collectible. I was wandering what sort of patches would go on it to match the time period because I lack the knowledge. This jacket isn’t meant for me to wear outside it is mearly a collectible since I have no military service.

1950s G-1 Jackets

As noted above the first G-1 spec was the 55J14 which was manufactured from 1947 to 1961. These jackets very collectible and only slightly less desireable than the earlier M-422A jackets. The 55J14 typically have shorter bodies than the M-422A and many have a snugger fit for their stated size. All of these jackets retain the painted "USN" stencil under the mouton collar...

Here, I'll start with my bonneville. Jacket is a Hein Gericke Dakar. It's from the 80s-90s if you consider that vintage. :p

Its 4 pocket front and shoulder/elbow reinforcements remind me of the Trialmaster except it's leather.

Here's another pic of the bonnie. It's a 60 rwhp fury!

I am offering hand made sturdy leather belts. I call these “mountaineer belts”. They will serve you well on all your adventures from grabbing a cup of coffee to ascending one of the 7 summits.
I stand behind these hand crafted items. I use only the best leather you can buy in the United States. Full grain 100% vegetable tanned Harness and Skirting leather. Both sourced from two of the last remaining tanneries that mainly focus on Vegtible tanning done right here in the USA.

L-2A with collar?
This is a luftwaffe photo from 1956.
When blown up you can see the collar appears to be part of the jacket, but I can't see a webbing patch that should be on the left hand side of the zipper.
